Daniel and Daniela is the story of a father who takes his daughter on a journey to his roots. Along the way, full of surprises and unforeseen events, they travel through Cape Verde, São Tomé, and Guinea-Bissau, both guided by the desire to see, learn, and converse.

Amid laughter, songs, and books, everything they encounter along the way serves as a pretext for another story that intertwines the past and present, from Nubians, Carthaginians, and Egyptians to slavery and colonialism, racism, and prejudice. All of this becomes material for another philosophy lesson, a reflection on African history, or the challenges of development. Daniel, aged 83, wants to pass on knowledge and critical thinking to his daughter Daniela, aged 12, preparing her for the future with a heart full of hope and freedom. After all, in Daniel's own words: "The greatest investment is human."
